The Curse of the Gothic Symphony” was finished in 2011 and premiered at Melbourne International Film Festival. Shot over two years in Australia and the UK this multi character documentary chronicles the struggle by an erstwhile group of musicians and benefactors to stage the most complex symphony of all time- Havergal Brian's Symphony #1 "The Gothic" The feature length project was produced by Veronica Fury, directed by Randall Wood and edited by Scott Walton. Fifty Fifty Films Animators Paul Butler and Andres Gomez created a series of live action animation sequences for the film bringing alive the gothic curse and providing historical reenactment of Edwardian England. “Exquisite graphics from animation house Fifty Fifty films…” [Variety]. The feature length documentary will screen of the ABC early in 2012.
